Avantages
Work-life balance was great as my manager was very laid-back about working from home, relaxed about deadlines and very happy for us to take time out for appointments or personal needs. We had lots of lovely social activities organised, and people were friendly and generally happy at work. I got to work on some exciting new projects and had freedom to test new ideas.
Inconvénients
There was a lack of a sense of urgency, despite the fact the company had some very tough challenges. At times it felt like we were a little too relaxed which could be difficult for someone highly motivated or ambitious. The relationship with the US head-office was difficult at times and it was unclear whether the regional offices had autonomy or not. This was made more difficult by a lack of budget for International meet-ups. There was a lack of clear leadership and vision, and people often referred to the company as a 'dictatorship' as the CEO ruled with an iron fist and often didn't take into account the opinions of his expert and experienced advisors, which caused some frustration.
