This makes the long-term outlook of the company pretty great. -Great office with a lot of unique perks. -A team that truly cares about each others and client success.

-Being able to perform and not just be a cog in the wheel is important here. If you are confident that you will work hard and always learn to be better it's a great fit. If you are looking for a cushion job this would not be a fit.

I have no doubt this is a good company. The leadership team seems solid and the work is frequent enough. While it's not top pay, the assignments are basic and if you can churn them out in an hour two, can be worthwhile as supplementary income.

When I started, I worked with two editors, including one who seemed to have respect for the writers she worked with. But she (not surprisingly) left, and I was left with an editor whose feedback was frequently unpleasant, inconsistent, unhelpful, and at times downright rude. I am a freelancer with 15 years' experience who has worked for a variety of clients, and I regularly make triple what this company pays working for editors who are actually pleasant to work with and value my skills and years of experience. She would push and push for over-explanation of points that should have been self-evident and demand hyper-specific, detailed advice, then berate me for going over the word count or providing advice that she personally didn't agree with, which is inevitable when you get that specific. She often peppered her feedback with rude, personal attacks. There are hyper-specific requirements for how many words can be in each sentence, how many sentences can be in each paragraph, and that every takeaway be exactly the same length. The pay being what it is, I do not have 5 hours to spend on each assignment to meet these requirements for such basic articles, and still have them be readable. This company has the potential to be a good gig for some writers, but consider yourself (and the management team) warned.
