Avantages
Campus is beautiful and students are wonderful. Very good balance between work and home life. Great PTO schedule, holidays and winter break. Employees tend to be very helpful and understanding when there are questions.
Inconvénients
Some job titles are very bloated. Salary ranges are determined by the central HR office, but the ultimate decision for salary ranges end up in the lower management levels, and can be perceived to be unfair. Requests for market salary surveys will not be completed without permission from immediate supervisors and dean's offices, so anonymity is not permitted if salary is questioned. Since most administration is decentralized, there does tend to be a problem with allowing the supervisors to effectively manage their employees. HR decisions, such as ability for managers to effectively deal with employee problems, tends to be an uphill battle when every level of supervision must be consulted and they must also approve of the action requested by the manager.
