Avantages
Nothing about the job is difficult, no matter the job title. It's just all about the details and there are a lot of them; repetitively. There is always something to be done and catch up on; always. 15% of the job is waiting; on customers to make choices; on the internet that runs the computers; waiting on instruction and information...to change; to go from a job offer to actually starting work 3-4 weeks later. The more hours you work, the more PTO you get. OT = even more PTO. My first year will have me well over 120 hours of PTO. You can only carry over 40 to the next year and they won't currently buy it back from you and major holidays are black out dates so use it often or it's gone.
Inconvénients
You wait for everything. Each store has 2 zebra scanners they work on internet that is 8-12 mbps. It's worse than old dial-up. Some of their management systems work on old green screen MS DoS style; seriously. I was supposed to get a call from a regional manager about the pay structure recalculation from standard requirement of 45 hours changing to 40. I waited 6 days to get the call. They calculated my new pay based on my average number of hours worked per week over the last 52 weeks including the missing 45 hours I was forced to be off work because of my exposure to an employee with Covid. Also my family of 3 pays over $1,000 a month with their insurance and a couple necessary 'extras'. There is 1.5 million pounds of garbage just from sale tags company wide. At least 50 lbs of magazines per week go to the trash. Average that out across 2452 stores = 6.4 million pounds of paper waste annually.
