Avantages

Remote culture, great when you have clear, meaningful work and allowed to do it. Fun co-workers (when they're not stabbing each other in the back). Work life balance (while it lasts)!

Inconvénients

High turnover and mass layoffs as the company tries to "figure itself out" Deceitful language in job description regarding benefits They laid off many people who just had kids before benefits kicked in. Very poor security practices, especially for a remote company. Employee cost of benefits is very high. Highly political and inappropriate soapbox speeches from CEO during all hands. Non technical staff making technical decisions. Little to no training costs covered, lack of paid training. Little to no opportunity for advancement. Many were laid off, equally as many left willingly. Lack of sufficient licenses for job critical tools and applications forcing you to use the trial version of swap licenses with co-workers. Poor quality contracts, general lack of contracts leading to mass layoffs despite good performance. A general culture of inadequacy and fear of inadequacy leading to backstabbing and competition over limited resources (jobs). A general lack of courage from middle and upper management to stand up to poor practices and problems before they become major. Instead of fixing the problem, they shoot the messenger. Using the review system to decide who to keep and who to fire, it's not about personal improvement at all. Politics trumps knowledge or ability! A top heavy company that couldn't survive without tax payer money spent on useless projects for the government.
