      Avantages

      Good fair trucks and trailers.

      Inconvénients

      Poor management and load planners and no dispatcher has the experience of driving a big truck and they treat u like do care about you, but they really don't care about you and all they care about is mighty dollar bills and not your health and safety and there maintenance support is terrible if truck batteries dies while on the road the have you routed to nearest terminal for need batteries and they don't want no other to do service on their trucks and it's all in house truck service with this company and advised to experienced drivers stay away from this company and they will cheating you out your miles. And getting harassed by your dispatcher by blowing up phones repeatedly every 30 minutes every day for no important reason why dispatcher calls u during your 10hr break and calling while you driving on the Road .

      I strongly suggest you connect with your fleet manager or fleet operations manager to discuss the issues you’ve raised. Without going overboard, some of your comments don’t make a lot of sense. For example, your comments about safety and about our maintenance really don’t make sense. We’ve provided masks and hand sanitizer to our driving teammates to address COVID-19 concerns, and if a driver doesn’t feel it’s safe to drive, we back them. With regards to maintenance support - we measure our downtime in hours, while other companies measure that in days. Again, I encourage you to work with your leaders to develop a plan for your success.

      Avantages

      The GYCDL program is very thorough. Trucks are well maintained. Terminals are fairly nice.

      Inconvénients

      They put you up in a hotel during the program but you will share a room with a stranger. After that I moved on to Phase 2. I had to wait at home for 3 weeks before I was assigned to a trainer, and then I was living in a truck sleeping on the upper bunk which is cramped. I had to keep all my belongings up there. I worked constantly during phase 2, only getting a break when I was sleeping or if my trainer got home time. In my case that meant I was put in a hotel room for 3 days. Complete that and I was assigned a truck and started Phase 3, where I was on my own supervised by a fleet manager. I didn't get many miles once I was on my own. The pay is too low for all the responsibility of driving a semi truck. If I could do it all over I would not come to Roehl.
