Avantages
I joined the firm after working as a researcher in a lab. This is my first job outside of academia. Honestly, I did not know what to expect. The interview process was interesting. I started by speaking with one of the partners on the telephone. He set up a day of meetings for me with several employees. I found each employee to be interesting and like me...unhappy with lab work and looking for something more rewarding. I have been here now for over a year and can say that it has been excellent. This is not easy work. The clients I work with are demanding. My supervisor is tough at times but in a good way. This is what is needed because we as a group care about being great at our work. If I wanted something easy, I would have gone elsewhere. When I look back now I realize how much people have taught me. The clients are interesting, which makes a difference.
Inconvénients
Sometimes clients have needs at odd hours. But I was told that this is how the executives work. We did not have this at our lab. But we had other challenges. I have a very full schedule. Sometimes it is hard to put things down because I want to get ahead. This is good work.
