Avantages

Freedom to bring ideas Getting to work on new technologies Ability to bring diverse skillset to teams High salary I have to assume the issues people are mentioning are regional. I've had nothing but positive experiences with management and the work we're doing. But I am also not working directly out of San Diego. The only downsides have strictly to do with the admittedly real "hurry up and wait" nature of government contract work. But that is intermittent, and in the meantime there is usually work to help with on other projects. I'd hate for talented engineers to pass on an opportunity to work on the at-scale devops transformations that Solute provides, because of others negative experiences I can't even corroborate.

Inconvénients

Poor benefits and holidays Government contracting gotchas It's a good thing the pay is good, because the benefits are... not. And by the nature of contracting work, there can be frustrating downtime waiting for financials to move out of the way of getting work done. But it's not so bad that I'd ever consider leaving.
