Avantages

Ability to define your own role. Large company with a lot of opportunity. Great benefits. Accessible executive management.

Inconvénients

Good ol' boys club. Sometimes it felt more like a men's locker room than a business. A lot of politics and personal issues between department heads created barriers to getting things done. A lot of disrespectful, passive-aggressive, unprofessional colleagues

Avantages

In general, SRAM is very easy going and it's an environment that isn't confrontational or competitive. Leadership is focused on employees and is very approachable. I feel a lot of security in my job and that I'd have a job here forever if I choose to stay. There's a lot of professional autonomy.

Inconvénients

For being a larger company, there's no structure for teaching employees how to do a job or process. They are trying to create some structure, but most processes are half-baked and not detailed enough to actually do it correctly. Leadership is really nice, but is lacking the "leadership" qualities that facilitate departments sharing information, best practices and growth. If I want to grow and learn, I need to seek out my own training.
