I’m sorry to hear that you did not value our efforts at building a diverse team and inclusive culture. We are working to build Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into the very fabric of our culture, and as such will never be “done.” Even so, we’re very proud of the progress we’ve made since starting our HR function just one year ago.
In that year, we’ve formed several company-funded ERGs, each with a Sr. Leadership Sponsor, and officers/staff who are paid for their ERG work. We’ve also run extensive live workshops for all hiring managers and recruiting staff on bias and inclusive hiring practices. We have engaged with several traditionally under-represented communities and we’ve started measuring our diversity recruitment efforts. In fact, in benchmarking our team, we have found that we are already significantly more diverse than our peers in technology across almost every demographic dimension.
We know our efforts to date have not been perfect and we know we have much work to do, but we feel we’re off to a good start and with operating principles such as “Be Empathetic” and “Be Authentic” guiding us, we are confident we’ll continue to drive significant progress here.
