Small Company, very family oriented

very inconsistent business environment. When it rains it pours, but when it doesn't rain, it stops for a long time

Company's biggest benefit is a mostly laid back culture. Maybe a little too laid back at times in certain ways. All around a small and friendly place to be most days. Company has been on an upward trend growth wise so perhaps it's best days are ahead of it. Younger crowd of employees are a relatively fun bunch. Many engineers are recent hires strait out of college so there is limited experience but decent enthusiasm for their jobs. If the company can retain some of these folks for several years, continue to grow, and add some quality experienced hands it might become something special.

Small company means limited mobility for most employees. There are also limited opportunities to learn and grow in most cases although that suits some people just fine while they soak up the sun outside of work. Compensation could be better but I suppose that the money needs to be there first in order to justify the pay. In a nut shell the major down side is a typical small company problem of limited resources. Lots of stuff around the plant is slapped together with new equipment slow to materialize. Along with that a few folks on the management side are a little sleepy in their positions which makes positive changes slow to happen.
