Avantages

Somewhat flexible schedule Lots of training resources

Inconvénients

Low pay, only received 1 raise in 4 years even though I've been top performer in my territory consistently. Micro management is excessive. It is a full time position but management says we are only entitled to 4 hours each day so I'm forced to file for unemployment to make up the difference in pay. Most of the company's employees are based in India or are h1b's. Field engineer is a dead end job and Unisys and the only promotion from here is to field service manager which is an even worse job. Now, with the reduced hours and work flow from outside, layoffs are coming.

Avantages

The team culture was the standout. Collaborative, supportive, and genuine. People wanted to see each other succeed and that showed up every day. The dedicated customer model as a Network Design Engineer I also gave the work real depth and ownership. You are solving meaningful problems for one customer rather than bouncing between accounts constantly. The technical work was engaging and kept me sharp

Inconvénients

Compensation was the weak spot. Pay sat below market rate for the role and skillset. Not drastically, but noticeably. Engineers with strong backgrounds should be aware of that going in and negotiate accordingly.
