Avantages
1. Work-life balance is quite good. 2. Managers are tech-savvy, polite, and helpful. 3. The product is well-documented. 4. Infrastructure is high-quality (you get a super-fast M1 Macbook pro, so there's no need to worry about CPU-intensive tasks). 5. HR team is very friendly and helpful.
Inconvénients
1. Good work-life balance is usually a good thing, but for almost all of the time I worked here, I only spent a few hours a day fixing simple bugs and adding trivial features: Not very exciting. Of course, if you do get into one of the research-oriented teams here, work can be interesting. 2. One of my teammates was incredibly disrespectful and difficult to work with. a. Code reviews sometimes went on for weeks with lots of circular reasoning (primarily owing to this person's poor communication skills). Any form of justification I made for introducing a change was met with either a personal attack or a vague sentence that is difficult to comprehend. b. The whole codebase is littered with unmanaged threads and there are a handful of issues related to this that are almost impossible to replicate. Any attempts to fix these issues by refactoring the code are dismissed as "risky".
