Avantages

Piggybacking of the previous reviews, I wanted to share my own experiences with VectorSolutions. While everything isn’t doom and gloom (the culture, when management isn’t off their rockers, is amazing), it is now becoming evident that this still growing company has a long way to go. Some management and all none-management band together over rough times but also have lots of fun in office. We have many volunteering events, company provided food, and many other things that used to make it a joy to be in the office. We have raffles for events, food trucks outside the building, and our work areas are spacious. But a pretty new coat of paint does not cover up the damage that is happening at the top and is trickling down to many who have long careers at Vector. The saying people don’t quit companies, they quit managers is very real in the last few months.

Inconvénients

My observations have gone from having hope that C-Level will finally see the light to a loss of confidence. Over the last few months, the frustration with our leaders has started to outweigh all the positives Vector has to offer. A constant red flag at Vector has always been our Human Resources teams having to answer to sales instead of the other way around. Past HR teams have left because HR is not at the top of the food chain – Sales is and that is putting a wall between any innovation that could be taking place. That being said, our new HR team is trying their hardest but key players who approve unethical practices and perpetuate old school, Boys Club attitudes and ideas are allowed to stay and pollute the culture. C-Level management is constantly brought in to “change things up” but their lack of willingness to understand the full scope of business and day to day operations has caused leaders and their teams to rethink their future with Vector. There have been unethical decisions that have come from C-Level or management teams (Initially, if could have been by accident as many decisions were made on the fly and not communicated between departments or above) but when it is brought to their attention, they accuse the reporters of being pessimistic or not seeing the bigger picture. Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worst over the past year and it’s hard to say if one should keep riding it out, like in the past, or cut ones loses. Any environment where the upper levels are built on hearing what they want instead of what they need will not lead our company to success. If one kisses up to the Boys Club, your opportunities and pay magically open up whereas if you have standards and favor professionalism of “bending the knee” you are gas-lighted and lose your seat at the table. I’m still here and hopeful for change, but the Boys Club attitude, favoritism, no active change, lack of C-Level accountable, and not paying employees their worth is changing my mind. We are not volunteers, we are employees, and as the company has grown, so should have the employees in their opportunities and pay. While remaining loyalty to a company is admirable, Vector is proving that loyalty equals being paid thousands of dollars less than market standard and expected to work in an environment that is growing increasingly toxic and hostile.

Thank you for your feedback. Our employees are our greatest asset and we carefully consider all reviews to help us see how we can improve. We pride ourselves on our office culture and we are glad to see that you enjoy participating in the many amenities provided here, including our raffles and volunteer events. It is true that Vector has experienced tremendous growth within a short time-span, nearly doubling our company size and significantly expanding our product and solution offerings. In this dynamic and exciting environment, Vector has reorganized leadership roles as necessary and brought in experienced team members to leverage this growth and take Vector to the next level. Our Executive Team consistently works to foster a culture of integrity, trust, accountability, and transparency, while also providing opportunities for professional growth and development to all team members. Additionally, Human Resources’ open-door policy strongly encourages employees from all departments to voice their concerns and ideas in a comfortable and safe environment. If there are specific concerns you would like to discuss with HR, please reach out to HR@vectorsolutions.com and a member of the HR team will respond to your request.

Avantages

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Inconvénients

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry this has been your experience, and we take comments like this seriously. Vector is a mission-driven company serving customers in critical industries, including public safety, education, industrial, government, healthcare, and other organizations that rely on our technology to help make people safer, smarter, and better prepared. We are proud of that work and of the team members who support it every day. Vector has implemented many positive changes over the years based directly on team member feedback, and we continue to welcome input across all areas of the business. We recognize that benefits, career growth, priorities, and culture can be experienced differently by different people. We do offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health coverage, 401k support, flexible paid time off, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and other resources; Growth Pathways to help team members understand career progression; and companywide initiatives such as Team Member Appreciation Week, Vector Volunteer Week, holiday events, and special commemorations to help build connection and culture. We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
