Avantages

Health insurance, dental, vision, great coverage (expensive co pay with family)

Inconvénients

Low pay (other universities pay staff at least $10,000 a year more, but here at WSU you will do the work of 8 people due to massive layoffs, reorganization of departments, and you are expected to do “faculty” work (faculty are never around or they claim they are doing research.) You will have to pay for parking every day ($4.50), and pay income taxes (if you are not a city of Detroit resident, you will be charged a transportation tax (we use the city roads-so we pay for the upkeep). You are lucky to see any other “staff” until 11:00 am when they are to work 8:30 – 5:00 and have to do their workload also. Administrators are never ever around (out of the office meetings) to keep track of others who choice to come and go as they please. I have been at WSU for 22 years and have wanted to leave, but all other jobs in state are low pay, far away, or part time.
