Imagine driving after work. It's dark, you're tired. It's raining and the lights from cars on the highway create that dreamy atmosphere. You're driving to a location you've never been to, and you're heading to an interview. You're feeling nervous because 1) it's an interview 2) you're definitely not feeling 100% 3) you're still wrestling internally whether you truly want to leave your current job. You get to the interview and it goes ok (a lackluster performance on your part) and you're offered a position on the spot. Do you take it? This was me some years ago, and my start at WebFX. I can confidently say that my decision to take the job offer at WebFX was one of the best decisions I've made. I don't typically write reviews, especially positive ones (you know - the tendency is to write a review if you have a negative experience and if you're having a positive experience, you're too busy enjoying it to write one), but I felt compelled to share my experience working here, because honestly, the organization and the people I've worked with deserve it. Maybe one of the best, or even the best, features of WebFX is its priority on hiring and retaining the right people. People are what make a business thrive or sink. WebFX has some of the most quality, down to earth, smart, kind people I've ever met; all the way up the organization. I think that combined with a culture of achievement and goal setting is a real exciting combination for me personally - I love being around people who work hard, are passionate about the craft, and are motivated by goals and helping solve problems for our clients. I honestly look forward to going to WebFX most days. It's a place that is energizing because of the people you work with and the experience of achievement most days, and the organizational systems support this energy. Historically the culture has needed to be tuned to find the right balance between extremes. For example I think at one point we were towing the line of being too surface level with positivity, and not acknowledging hard things. Like any organization, which is made of imperfect people who are always learning and growing personally, including leaders and even owners, this is inevitable. I think what rises to the surface for me is how WebFX 1) recognizes this and seeks to course correct and 2) holds to what is important to its culture despite outside pressures to change. I've already written more than I intended to and I only wrote about once facet of the organization. Let me focus on one additional area that has stood out to me about my experience at WebFX - the leadership. In my personal experience, and from what I've witnessed, leaders honestly strive to understand and know you as a person, and go above and beyond to catch up on personal things, and recognize and celebrate life events. I've never felt like "just a cog". I think alongside that, leaders really pour into your personal growth; I honestly feel like a totally different person from when I started in terms of my skills and what I'm capable of, largely in part because of the leaders I've had and the systems in place to foster that growth. This isn't to say that I've never had disagreements with my leaders, but what helps with this is knowing that the leaders I've interacted with seem to try their hardest to make the best decisions given all the information they know at the time, combined with their receptivity to hear your input, ideas and feedback, and will always address that feedback in someway, even if it's an "I hear you, but we can't do that now for X, Y, Z reasons". Leaders trust when you've earned trust, and promote when you've earned promotion. There's much more I can say but I'm going to wrap this up. When I set out to write this, I really wanted to avoid the "nothing but glowing" positive review tone because that isn't reality - because people, and therefore organizations run by people, are not perfect or infallible. I hope I achieved that goal and gave a realistic appraisal of WebFX, and therefore is beneficial for anyone reading this. Even despite imperfection, I'd have to give WebFX a 5 out of 5. Last story: One morning I did some exercise, slipped on the wet road and cut up my leg pretty badly. I got myself bandaged up and went to work (maybe a bad idea looking back), and my bandage ended up, well, not keeping things bandaged (gross). My direct leader saw this and immediately ran out to her car and got her personal first aid kit for me to clean myself up. I've always felt cared for at WebFX - as an employee and as an individual. WebFX is hard driving with big ambitions, and I've always personally enjoyed that aspect. But what's even better is the heart of the organization - a heart that cares about its employees.

Inconvénients

See the above, it's all intertwined together - no hard cons Add a note about compensation: Overall based on my experience and from what I've gathered, I'd say "great". Big caveats to that though for not being "excellent" - location (compared to living in NYC, San Francisco, Philadelphia, etc), hours (role doesn't require excessive overtime like I've heard elsewhere), work environment - great coworkers and leadership. In my experience, no one makes you dread coming to work, micromanages you, or treats you poorly. Because of those reasons, I'd choose "great" over "excellent" any day.

Not going to sugarcoat it - the work is hard and the expectations are real. But the flip side is you actually learn things and move up if you perform. I went from jr to sr in a reasonable timeframe because the progression path is transparent and based on merit. FXLearns certifications, ongoing training, solid coaching. The office perks are a cherry on top - snacks, coffee, gym, standing desks. The StemFX scholarship program and charity initiatives make you feel like the work matters beyond revenue.

Inconvénients

The pace is fast and you can fall behind if you don't focus. There's a lot of change - new tools, new processes, new initiatives rolling out constantly. Adapting is part of the job. I'd also say client work can be draining depending on who you're working with. Some clients are great, others... less so.

Wow! So many pro's,..Where do I start? Gotta say that the people here that I get to work with are just amazing. Each day I look forward to being here with them and overcoming any challenge together. At day one the positivity and care shown to myself, for each other, for our clients and for the common goal of the company is evident. Powered by positivity isn't just a slogan here, but a way of life that is infectious. That starts with a vision and great leadership from the top down. From the first tour through our campus, to our team celebrations and to our amazing company wide events I have been treated like family. The perks feel endless with our own in-house barista, food trucks, snack walls, fitness gym, kayaks, bikes, bring your pet to work desks and an awesome atmosphere designed for healthy productivity. All of this is located on a beautiful campus overlooking the Susquehanna river here in Central Pa. If your looking for a place that feels more than just a workplace and to be who you are. Would you be excited to grow along side incredible people towards a common goal and have a blast doing it this is the place for you! Speaking for myself it is the very best place I could have ever asked for employment and it feels like home.

Inconvénients

I personally don't have any cons at the moment. I just grateful.
