Avantages
- Suitable environment to learn and grow oneself: The environment doesn't limit anyone to work and upgrade their skills. So if someone is competent enough and doesn't want to limit their capabilities, Webkul is an apt place for them. - Positive or conducive environment: Employees have the opportunity to bring something new if they think and believe that there is an idea that can create a change. Any talented mind can bring up a good idea, discuss it directly with the company owners and can start working on it. The company is willing to invest in new ideas if it is worthy. This is a sure-shot miss in any MNC for any new joiner. - Minimal Office Politics: The directors of the company keep major control in their hands and actively work daily to manage things. So there are very less chances that someone's efforts get out of sight. - Strict task hour policy: This may sound weird but frankly speaking, working more in the right direction is the easiest way to get your work done, learning things, and upgrading yourself with the environment. Webkul doesn't force anyone to imbalance their work lifestyle but building a good habit is tough, so working more always has many hands raised in opposing this culture. When Narayana Murthy says that our youth should work 70 hrs a week, this doesn't sound good to most of the employees but what he means is that we have to be very productive if have to outpace ourselves. - Strong Vision: Keeping the company bootstrapped only and not involving any outside investors that can change this vision
Inconvénients
- Missing usage of paid tools: Almost no use of paid tools that most MNCs use nowadays makes the employees a bit out of date from the market. Anyone can know these tools from the internet but using them daily in your work gives you another level of exposure, which is missed here. - Missing a check on managers/team leads: There are always chances of mismanagement, mishandling, misbehavior, and/or mischief by the staff falling above the mid-level hierarchy. Additionally, the same staff most of the time misses upgrading their skills which finally creates a knowledge void in the team. Like many companies, Webkul skips to keep a check on such employees and activities. - Missing marketing and business analyst capabilities: There are almost negligible people here who are from the core marketing domain only (only MBAs or Analysts). Webkul believes that only a technical person can understand and market their work, which is true but in this process, they are overlooking the most proficient minds of the country. I mean IIM is IIM for a reason and leading companies hire a brilliant mind from an IIM for a reason. - Strict shift hour policy: If there is already a task hour policy, then why any employee should spend extra time in shift just wasting their time in any random activity just to cover up their shift hours? One of the reasons could be that this extra time should be used to create bonding with other colleagues that finally builds up a great place to work but this is a personal choice of any employee only. The company should not bind anyone to create such an environment. - Less expenditure on employee engagement: However the company arranges all-employee level parties two times a year, but be it conducting activities on weekends to save task hours, or arranging average meals and only reasonable gifts, employees are not happy with them. If the budget doesn’t allow it, it will be good to keep things less in number but keep expenditures to the best possibilities. - No redress TAT for raised issues for internal things: If there is some suggestion to HR/Accounts/any other department. The answer is vague most of the time with no deadline or Yes/No
