Avantages

If you’re lucky, you won’t have a Team Lead that tracks your lunch break minutes. If you’re not, you’ll be expected to answer why your break was 65 minutes instead of 60. They contract a dining service at the HQ in Westborough. That’s a pro if you don’t like bringing your own food. They’ll match your 401k investment up to 3%. Below average, but a pro for this company. Sometimes we get half days before a holiday; sometimes.

Inconvénients

This review is from the perspective of an employee that works on the Support side. Put simply, stay as far away from this company as possible. There is NO future here; they do not offer growth or career opportunity, it’s not even advertised. eCW isn’t interested in employees that want to grow - they want mindless sheep to put their heads down and maintain independent thought that might call into question the horrible business practices that are forced on them. The SAM Team is a dead end. Don’t become a SAM unless you’re prepared to be a sycophant and suck up to people to get things done. Team Leads will consistently remind you that you fall behind on your ever-changing “KPIs” with threats of termination if you don’t catch up. In the rare event you actually do catch up on the ridiculous documentation that is demanded, the goalposts will be moved and TLs will figure out a new way to criticize your work, make you feel inadequate and remind you that your efforts aren’t becoming of someone expecting a bonus. This last point has been used explicitly and is legitimate emotional abuse. Strategic Account Managers are assigned as “Ambassadors” for their accounts, meaning you become the floor mat for all other departments to wipe their problems on you. SAMs are expected to have a thorough understanding of every account, including actions taken by other teams, which the SAM will inevitably have to defend and ultimately clean up when those teams mess up. There is zero accountability across the company, save for the reprimanding SAMs receive if something goes wrong. Don’t ever ask a question about culpability on another team, as you’ll be reminded to focus on your own work and not other employees. Teams work independently from other teams, effectively becoming cliques throughout the entire company. There is massive resistance to helping other people unless you know them personally or you involve their TL. Don’t expect any TL to jump when you ask for help, either. The nepotism is so utterly rampant at eClinicalWorks it’s beyond parody. Be prepared to work with an entire family on a project, as it seems the only requirement to obtain employment is family relation. This applies for any type of job movement as well - family is given preferential treatment when considering new positions. This review could go on for days, but the point is, is you value your sanity and emotional stability, do not waste your time and effort considering employment at eCW. They are embroiled in numerous lawsuits because they continue to cut corners when developing their products and have spent hundreds of millions in settlements with the government and private parties. There is absolutely nothing ethical about this company. It’s truly remarkable they still have their current market share, let alone profitability.

Avantages

Travel was great, got to use my own cc to book everything made a lot of points and status with companies. Mid year bonuses and end of year raise. Community within the company is great and helpful.

Inconvénients

Onboarding training is too short and not enough to be well versed in the software. Had to do a lot of research and work on my own time to learn the software and medical terminology.
