The initial call from the recruiter was smooth, friendly, and informative about what information they were able to provide about the job (The general information, hours, and holidays off). I had a zoom meeting with several managers from the department that my position would be in. I was on time for the meeting, but one of the managers was late for the zoom. The interview started with all four interviewers talking about their past nursing experience and how long they had been at Centene. As the interview started the main interviewer didn't appear to have any set itinerary for the interview as far as detailing the job description or any interview questions. There was very little information provided to me about the actual position beyond hours/ orientation/ deadlines and how demanding the position was. When it came to the interviewer questioning me, they asked very specific questions pertaining to the position (as if I had a working knowledge of the department's exact protocols for how the person in the position would complete their job) and then would provide a dissatisfied reply to any questions I answered. Within the first 10 minutes of the interview, the main interviewer asked me to walk through the steps of my prior job. I would describe my prior job's workload, requirements, and the steps I did to complete my job. Appearing dissatisfied with the answer she would repeat the question several times. Not sure how I could give a wrong answer when describing my past work experience. When I was answering a question regarding my prior position's work, I asked a question regarding a job task she had mentioned earlier. Her reply to my inquiry was "Are you asking me a question? I am the one asking the questions ". I was thrown off as I have never had such a reaction to asking a question during an interview. Among the other interviewers they would ask common interview questions " when was a time you made an error and how did you respond to it" or “when have you had a problem and how did you deal with it?". The main interviewer conducted the interview more like an interrogation. I have never had an interview feel so aggressive and hostile. After this interaction, I could only imagine what the employees below these managers must deal with and explains a large number of job openings for this department. I went into this interview with hope and had much respect for the company but after I was dumbfounded that the people in these higher positions conducted themselves in such an unprofessional belittling manner.
