The seismic data-acquisition imaging and software systems company helps worldwide petroleum exploration contractors identify and measure subsurface geological structures that could contain oil and gas. Its data acquisition products are capable of processing 3-D, 4-D, and multi-component 3-C seismic data for land, marine, and transition areas (such as swamps, shoreline, marsh, and jungle). ION Geophysical also makes other products such as geophysical software, helicopter-transportable enclosures, seismic sensors, specialty cables and connectors, and radio telemetry systems. Its marine positioning systems map the geography of the ocean's floor.
