    J'ai travaillé chez Arriva Group à temps plein

    Avantages

    The satisfaction from helping patients.

    Inconvénients

    Poor management, clear favouritism of staff, no recognition for those who actually do good work. Training has no structure and is left to other colleagues to teach you which isn't fair on them.

    Conseils à la direction

    Treat staff equally and give recognition for good work.

    J'ai travaillé chez Arriva Group à temps plein (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

    Some genuinely nice people within the company.

    Inconvénients

    If you are looking for:
    * A company that cares about personal development;
    * a grad program with structure;
    * a transparent company with defined salary expectations;
    * a grad role that feeds into a full-time job; and
    * a corporate culture that genuinely looks after its human resources

    Then this program and company isn’t for you. The fundamental elements listed above are nonexistent for most, if not all graduate roles. If you’re uncertain talk to a current graduate.

    Your first job is the beginning of your career, where you arm yourself with a brilliant skill set and develop an ability to excel. You are unlikely to get this in Arriva.

    Be wary of joining this company.

    With concern,
    An ex-Arriva grad

    Conseils à la direction

    Take care of your graduates. You’ve hired some brilliant people I’ve had the opportunity of knowing, but they’ve been completely neglected.

    Engender an environment that seeks to take care and motivate your employees, encouraging them to stay. Otherwise, most graduates will also leave, even before the end of the program.

    Avantages

    Lovely office in London with good food and drink availability. A good culture of cross team working and there are a lot of friendly people across the business. Over half of the office "worked from home" on a Friday and the office was always empty if you ever were to go in.

    Inconvénients

    - Really witty nitty about hiring and firing people, In the 1.5 year that I could last I had an ever changing team with people constantly being fired in the circumstance that everyone else around them knew that they were about to be fired apart from the person themselves. There were a lot of upset people and the company had a massive staff turnover.
    - No proper management of teams, directors are hardly in the office, always working from home, in the role that I was in I never had a catch-up or 1-2-1 with a management figure so was left to my own devices for about 6 months of my working time - It was the most bored I have ever been. Lots of people had no real certainty of what their job consisted of.
    - Clear favoritism in teams.
    - I learned very early on that this was one of the bitchiest companies I had ever worked for and regularly heard management being horrible or rude about another member of staff.
    - The head of my team was so unfriendly and she had no "real" relationship with anyone who worked beneath her and everyone openly commented on how much they disliked her. All staff acted differently around her, and I would laugh about how her direct peers would try to fight for her attention and praise - which they rarely received. In turn, made the whole team a bunch of bitter, really unfriendly and unapproachable group. My colleagues would ask me how i had lasted working in the team.
    - When i was considered for another role in a completely new team, a colleague of mine confidentially told me that my director had told them that it would look unprofessional to the rest of the company that I had wanted to leave my team and therefore I was never offered the new job on this reason alone.

    Conseils à la direction

    Make sure teams are happy

    Avantages

    Everyone is really friendly from day 1. You walk in and everyone says Good Morning and says good bye when they leave regardless of knowing you or not. The company has fantastic core values and really promotes "One Arriva". People will gladly take time out of their day to help you and expect nothing in return. Career progression is a big focus here and the company will push and support you in any way they can. They prefer to offer positions internally and train people up rather than recruit externally which is great. Things are getting bigger here and i think they will get even better too! You get a free travel pass for all buses and the metro and there is a great rewards site also. Parking on site for all staff free of charge :) All management, no matter how senior, are approachable and happy to make time for you.

    Inconvénients

    I am yet to find anything negative!

    Je travaille chez Arriva Group à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

    I've worked on the Service Desk at Arriva since 2017 and have noticed a really positive change in attitude and atmosphere on the Service Desk and in the IT department in general over the last 12 months - this is down to the big IT restructure that took place just before I started.

    Staff development and progression is a big focus of Senior Management and the department always tries to promote from within before looking externally for talent. This year I've been given the opportunity to complete all of my personal development requests which I'm very happy about and very thankful for.

    Management have been really supportive of my personal goals and have always made themselves available if / when I've needed assistance.

    Inconvénients

    Due to the rapid expansion of the Service Desk and also the wider IT Department there's a lot going on and lots of tight deadlines to meet - this can sometimes be stressful, however, recognition for a job well done is always given so it's worth it in the end!

  10. « PCV training positions...be aware! »

    Ancien employé - PCV License Trainee Bus Driver - Hemel Hempstead, Angleterre (Royaume-Uni)

    J'ai travaillé chez Arriva Group à temps plein (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

    The quality of the PCV license training and support Arriva provides is excellent

    Inconvénients

    There is huge pressure from day one to meet theory and driving standards

    Conseils à la direction

    With no prior experience of driving a large vehicle of any kind, I was recruited to a PCV trainee bus driver position solely on the experience of driving a small family car around Hemel Hempstead with an assessor for half an hour! Whilst I passed my theory exams first time I found it difficult to master driving a single decker bus and just over two weeks later I was dismissed. A stressful, depressing and entirely avoidable situation.
