    Avantages

    Travail stimulant et exigent, axé sur les résultats. Horaires flexibles, rapport de confiance entre employeurs et employés. Haute concentration sur la sécurité et bien être de travailleurs. Les résultats sont reconnus et payés.

    Inconvénients

    Processus de décision parfois lent, vu la taille de l'entreprise. Forte dépendance des directives américaines, malgré les résultats obtenus en Europe.

    Continuez sur cette voie de relation de confiance et gratification du travail fourni, on ne vous quittera pas facilement et à coeur léger!

    Avantages

    I joined the company some years ago, And now it looks like we’ve hit a new low. Specialty we’ve tried to be, But investors disagree. How much longer can this fallacy go? Make better decisions faster is what we’re told to do, But with so many meetings, it’s hard to see through. Responsibilities aren’t clear; New titles make us sneer. Business Operating Model was a failure, it’s true.

    Inconvénients

    It seems like it happens every year, The layoffs, the fear, is once again here. We brace for the call, While HR tries not to stall. The executive team wonders where went the cheer. No one knows when the chaos will end, It may be short-lived, once our management is thinned. Stay silent and comply, To elsewhere we apply. Someone make Eastman fun again!

    Here’s some much-needed advice, Start by being respectful and nice, Cut excess at the top, BOM & Ignite must stop. Execute these changes and don’t think twice.

    Avantages

    Kingsport is a great place to live if you like outdoors, want a short commute and want a cheap lifestyle. (It’s cheap because there is nowhere to spend money)

    Inconvénients

    Eastman moves at a snail pace seriously company who wants to be a specialty chemical company needs to be fast and agile. They are stuck and been spinning in place for years now. There is very much so, us vs them mentality. There are golden children (typically home grown talent committed to the area - that’s fast tracked) and there is everyone else. No incentive to working hard. Be a local or be gone is the motto.

    Eastman has potential to be a greater company but major cleaning of the house is needed - the biggest obstacle to Eastman is not outside threats is the “be local” culture that is preventing this company from growing and making any meaningful change.

      Avantages

      A good place to start your career if you are freshly out of school or need visa sponsorship. Eastman is nice to new people and compensation is good.

      Inconvénients

      Career movement is very slow. Eventually you will find yourself become a second-tier politician and third-tier scientist if you want to be promoted (or "join the club"). Diversity is lacking - Need more people with diverse background sitting in management positions. Until so, Eastman will struggle competing globally.

      CEO, EVPs, and VPs have good vision. This doesn't mean other managers are on-board. Need aggressive management house cleaning (mainly directors and group leaders) to truly change the culture and truly become a strong global chemical company.

      Lots of independence, guidance from senior engineers, good compensation and work life balance. It has been a very fulfilling experience so far

      There are some issues with integrating small sites to work fully with the larger main manufacturing site

      Avantages

      Great experience if you are looking for something corporate.

      Inconvénients

      No career movement allowed for two years, supervisors play favorites and target the ones they don't like. They will also do massive layoffs at least every couple of years. Their motivation for who to lay off changes as well so you never feel secure.

      Great people to work with for the most part who care about doing a good job.

      I have been with Eastman for many years. For the past few years, top leadership within the company continues to push changes and emphasize performance in a way that clearly indicates the bulk of the workforce does not seem to be valued.       Remember your roots with respect to employee valuation. They really are the greatest asset for any company. To the BOD: hold the CEO accountable. The stock price continues to be pathetic while the general market roars along. Employees have even suffered personally to address cost in an attempt to rejuvenate the stock. By the CEO's own calculus he needs to be replaced with someone that can make a difference if he cannot....

      First, the company has made a huge negative shift in how they value their employees. When I hired on, it was a team based feel where people enjoyed helping each other. After the rating system was introduced, the desire to help each other started to drop.       It's a paycheck. Benefits are better than other places although health insurance is getting worse. Some products are commodities and some have potential to be market leaders. Engineers seem on the ball and the science is sound.

      Inconvénients

      How much time do y'all have? Watch out, experienced dedicated workers! Once you reach a certain age, they'll lay you off and hire someone younger for a song. Meanwhile, the overpaid executive team is more concerned about their stock shares than their employees. They get ridiculous salaries and we get raises that don't match inflation if we get a raise at all. CEO emails to employees are usually depressing. Not a motivational...

      Break up the cronyism at the top. Replace the CEO. Show a little optimism by standing by your employees in tough times instead of sacrificing them. We're told "headwinds" are temporary. Laying off a 55-year old is can be pretty permanent for that person.
