Avantages

Salsify is a pleasant place to work. There are many great people, and the leadership is good. The company addresses a problem that's important to its customers, and executes well on the various business tasks like product development, customer enablement and support, sales process, etc. As a software developer, it's a good culture. People are competent. The team values quality, follows many industry best... practices, and incorporates newer technologies in a careful but steady way. People are open to practical solutions and figuring out how to pilot new features quickly without letting things become too messy. We have a lot of product work to do, but it's rarely stressful.

Inconvénients

It's not great for a person who wants to derive a lot of meaning from their job. Basically Salsify exists to help brand manufacturers list their products on retail websites. As you learn more about it, the retail industry has many interesting details and challenges, but still it's ultimately about selling stuff. Salsify isn't evil, but if you want your life to involve more soulful work, you likely need to figure out... how to do that outside the office. Some engineering-specific cons: the team is big enough that it's difficult to just start using a new technology or process that you're personally excited about - an early stage startup would be much better for that. Similarly, the longer tenured people aren't particularly open to ideas from newer engineers, so you need to have very strong social skills and persistence to drive changes. As a new employee, it's possible to be quite productive, but it feels pretty isolated.

Normal growing pains (keeping teams in sync). Nothing that isn't actively being addressed.

For the high amount of growth here at Salsify, the people, culture and upward mobility are top notch.

Avantages

Salsify's company culture is really incredible and gives me something to look forward to on my way into work. It serves a constantly evolving industry and does a great job at constantly iterating to meet changing eCommerce needs of brands.

We really have struck a chord in the market. Our competitors are scared, but that's not what drives us. - If you're looking to break into SaaS sales, Salsify's BDR Program is one of the best. - Strong track record of promotions is a testament... to both career growth opportunities and company growth. - Beautiful office that's hard at times not to take for granted. We're in a badass location in FiDi with three floors, a fully-stocked kitchen, a gym and cafeteria downstairs, and views for days. - We're growing at a rapid pace but we're still a startup which means you DO have disproportionate influence over your work and future here compared to other companies. Salsify's culture definitely rewards self-starters who take ownership, great ideas, thoughtful execution, and collaboration. - Quite a few negative reviews here related to Sales and Sales management. As our company and Sales team have grown, Salsify has brought in many new Sales leaders and I think they deserve a little more appreciation. - Speaking of teams, nothing negative to say about any of them here. From IT to Product to Business Ops to Marketing, there is a wealth of friendly and skilled people ready to roll up their sleeves and help. - I appreciate how hard people work here. If you're hungry to learn and fail and learn again, if you're willing to put the work in, if you practice and absorb everything you need to perfect your craft, this will be a great environment for you.

- As we're well aware, Salsify's growing really fast which means it's becoming harder to welcome and incorporate new employees into the company. Internal processes, resources, knowledge, and even Slack etiquette etc. can get lost in the noise and cause unnecessary setbacks. - Sometimes I'll hear various random acronyms and I have no idea what they mean. - Sometimes we run out of flavors on the Coca-Cola Freestyle.

My experience at Salsify so far has been great. Everyone who works here seems happy and engaged, which makes my job more enjoyable. There is a lot of cross-functional work driven by leadership, which brings better results and faster growth for the company. This is one of the most collaborative environments I've worked in-it's great to have everyone understand that no matter what department you're in, we are all... working towards the same goals. It helps that we also have great benefits: - Any type of beverage or snack you could dream of fully stocked in the kitchen (including cold brew and iced teas on tap on every floor) - A brand new office space with amazing views of the city, and the latest technology at our desks and in conference rooms - Great health benefits including on-site dental cleanings and eye exams offered every few months. - A team dedicated to keeping our office at a 5-star level and planning a variety of employee engagement activities like trivia nights, cooking lessons, happy hours, meditation & fitness classes, etc.

Inconvénients

The usual start up pains...constant change, everyone works at an extremely fast pace and it can be difficult to keep up/manage workload. We're also hiring at such a fast pace and are spread out on 3 floors now in our new office that it makes it more difficult to get to know new employees. Employee on-boarding I'd consider to be a work in progress--it has improved a lot in the last year but people outside the... sales org could benefit from more industry and product training.

Keep investing in your employees and staying involved. It's great to hear from the founders regularly through email updates, our weekly all-hands meetings or other avenues.
