Good employer, but weak sales leadership in France
Avantages
Trimble is a strong employer overall, offering opportunities regardless of academic background. Onboarding is well-structured, with clear compliance policies (such as mandatory anti-harassment training) and the colleagues are very nice and friendly. Being in the AECO industry, it initially seems positive that former architects work in sales management, as they understand the profession.
Inconvénients
In practice, having former architects in sales roles can be a drawback, as they often lack core sales knowledge and management experience. For people starting their career, this may not be an issue, but for those with prior sales experience it can feel limiting and frustrating. Some managers have reached a plateau in their careers and focus on putting others down who come up with great ideas instead of personal sales development. Constructive new ideas are sometimes dismissed, while individuals are criticized or undermined. The culture can combine the less favorable aspects of both American (hire-and-fire) and French (office politics, personal favoritism) working styles.
