Avantages

Passionate customers. Of what is left, passionate staff. Specialist and niche pocket of the industry. An unmatched and unparalleled expression of software engineering and creativity has evolved for over 20 years into their products. It still resonates today with a hardcore dedicated user base. The commitment of Avid's users is giddying.

Inconvénients

At a regional APAC level, the autonomy was exceedingly relied upon = too much travel and expenses; coupled with a 7+ year campaign to not replace people that either 'jumped' or were 'pushed', burn out and eventual resignation of the core staff establishment has now resulted in a 'hollowed shell' of what was once a disruptive and admired technology company in the 90's & 00's. In-fighting due to frustration on lack of resources. Salary. Not good.

• Some coworkers try to support each other despite the environment • You quickly learn how to handle stress (whether you want to or not)

Inconvénients

• Toxic and reactive management style • Constantly shifting expectations with little to no clear direction • Unrealistic workload with pressure to meet metrics that don’t reflect reality • Lack of accountability from leadership—issues are pushed down instead of addressed • Poor communication across the board, leading to confusion and wasted time • Employees are not supported • Burnout is common and ignored
