Avantages

Fewer and fewer. Virtual first is a pro, but senior leadership has disparaged that benefit publicly and it’s likely to be gone soon, ironically not a single c-Suite leader lives in Chicago.

Inconvénients

Senior leadership does not enjoy much respect from the organization and for good reason, most are woefully unskilled, having little if any relevant experience and will regularly say they don’t care when laying off employees. Layoffs are routine but hiring never stops. All the drama from senior leadership and yet the bottom line only sinks lower. You cannot trust this organization or its leaders.

Avantages

Highly collaborative culture and lots of humility, people take ownership of their work and care to see it through to the end, and everyone is approachable and easy to work with.

Inconvénients

New leadership means lots of unknowns at the moment.

Avantages

Cars.com or CARS or CARS Commerce (whatever you want to call this company) is going through its own internal identity crisis. Over 7 years ago, this company was one of the best to work for. However, over the last few years, many “bad actors” in leadership have snaked their way through bad performance and rewarded with promotions. The few good people that remain are the only positives of the company. It seems, though, after every yearly layoff, more and more of these OG employees that “bleed purple” are forced out via PIP or Re-Org.

Inconvénients

The cons list is long… it all starts with an HR department that creates job titles and requirements out of thin air but then doesn’t abide by any of them for their cronies. A constantly changing pay plan seems to be a way to confuse Sales and justify reasons not to pay. You must constantly watch your pay checks to ensure they’re accurate (just like at a car dealership; ironic?). Then they tout all the other benefits of working for the company to mask all the wrong being done.
