Avantages
Fluor, a construction and engineering firm, is an ethical company with an intelligent employee base, i.e. engineers, attorneys, etc. Fluor is well respected in the construction industry, and is a good company for learning the dos and don'ts in this industry, and stresses a safety culture, and actual practices, that stand out in the industry.
Inconvénients
Can be VERY difficult to promote in main office locations. MUST be willing to work at project locations to move forward in the majority of career paths at Fluor. This means willing to relocate frequently. For those seeking to work for a company who issues bonuses to the general workforce, this is NOT the place for you. Only those at fairly high levels in management receive bonuses. Overall benefits are not that great compared to other large corporations. The "good" benefits, again, are reserved for the uppermost tiers of management. This frustrates the vast majority of employees. Fluor has been down-sizing its employee base primarily due to downturn in the oil industry, so most departments are working in under staffed environments, which can prove to be very stressful.
