Company doesn't walk the walk, possible age-related layoffs - Avis employé Sr. Project Manager Insight

Avantages

Project teams were generally nice to work with. Pay was decent, remote work was great.

Inconvénients

During last month's town hall, everyone was informed that Insight was hiring junior team members and building them up to cut costs, opening up the way for senior team members into leadership. They said they wouldn't start just mass lay offs like other tech companies because supposedly that's not their culture. Insight hired a ton of project coordinators alright, but the next month after, they fired a bunch of Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers -- many in their 50s and 60s. They also laid off several architects and Sr. Architects, hiring associate engineers instead. If I did not need their severance to hold me over to the next job, basically forcing me to sign their severance agreement, I would have hired a lawyer for age discrimination review. In addition, great way to be client-oriented by laying them off before they get a chance to wrap things up -- nice way to air out all your dirty clothes.

Avantages

Work life balance is okay. Hybrid schedule. Depending on your manager they can work with you. Some really great and caring people. Generous PTO.

Inconvénients

Pay is noncompetitive. The medical benefits are pretty bare minimum. Lastly, the company morale is in the tank overall. Missed several quarterly quotas, new CEO brought in to fix things. Nobody knows where anything is headed
