Avantages
- Excellent hands-on experience --Solve complex problems that lead to quantifiable value --Work hand-in-hand with clients from day 1 --True understanding of how businesses operate (rather than the 30,000 ft view that many strategy firms offer) - True merit-based promotion timeline -- Do good work and you'll get promoted; timeline is far less of a factor than at other firms - Intelligent people with solution-oriented mindsets
Inconvénients
- Work-life balance -- Far cry from the 9-5, expect 12-15 hour days regularly -- Remote travel locations lead to difficult travel schedules (9 days on-site, 5 days home) - Lack of industry diversity -- A lot of the work is mining or some other capital-intensive industry (O&G, Construction, etc.)
