Avantages

Made some good friends, Learned what not to do as a Manager. Everyday there was a challenge. Lower level employees were great to work with.

Inconvénients

Completely ridicules expectations. Always end of quarter push. Nothing completed in the beginning of the quarter. Complete lack of upper management focus. Too busy kissing each other’s butt. Expensive corporate events and retreats, but only for the Executive team!! The remaining management team are left to layoff the regular employees to make budget. Where is the logic?

Avantages

Brooks operates in a genuinely interesting sector with strong technical capabilities and some highly capable people. There are teams doing good work, and the company has real potential with the right CEO.

Inconvénients

However, the overall experience is shaped by ongoing layoffs and a consistently volatile environment. Frequent restructuring and shifting priorities make it difficult to build momentum or see initiatives through to completion. There is a constant sense of change without enough stability to support it. This creates uncertainty for employees and impacts morale, engagement, and long-term focus. It is challenging to operate effectively when the direction can shift quickly, and role security feels unclear. In summary, an interesting company in an important industry, but one where greater stability and clearer direction would significantly improve the employee experience.
