Avantages

- They have a Union, but most jobs beyond senior are non-union eligible - Opportunities to learn new things even if it's not modern tech

Inconvénients

- Poor structure and revenue model is all over the place in a bad way - High turnover: people leave a lot due to the culture being strange - Promotions /Advancement are like the lottery - You are not working on cutting edge stuff (fixing Gov legacy systems) - Highly political environment leaning to democratic space

Avantages

Working at Code for America was a truly rewarding experience. The organization is filled with passionate, intelligent, and mission-driven people who care deeply about making government services more accessible and equitable. Leadership genuinely believes in the mission, and there’s a strong focus on collaboration, inclusion, and innovation. I learned so much from the cross-functional teams and appreciated how everyone’s voice was valued. The work has a direct positive impact on real people’s lives, which is something you can’t say about every organization.

Inconvénients

Honestly, the only downside was not being there longer! It’s the kind of environment where you wish you could continue growing and contributing for years to come.
