Avantages

Overall, I had a positive experience working here. The people were genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and willing to help, which made a big difference day to day. One of the best parts of the job was getting paid to travel across the country and see a wide variety of projects and locations. I learned an incredible amount in this role and grew exponentially, both technically and professionally. It was a great learning opportunity and a valuable experience for anyone who enjoys variety and hands-on work.

Inconvénients

This role requires a SIGNIFICANT commitment to travel, often with minimal notice. Field projects can change quickly, and it’s common to be asked to mobilize day-of after getting a call on a weekend. Equipment prep, testing, and travel are frequently compressed into very tight timelines. While the work can be rewarding, the constant schedule changes make it a high-stress environment. This role can be extremely challenging for those with family or other commitments. During peak seasons, time at home can be very limited (sometimes only a few days at home per month).

Avantages

Interesting projects, good equipment, diverse clientele.

Inconvénients

No standard contracts, salary or hours of work. No set schedule. Treated as if on call but not paid accordingly. Pay is dependant on negotiating skills. Administration plays favourites. People jealously guard their power and positions.
