Avantages

Prestigious name, the staff is generally pleasant (though some awkward personalities)

Inconvénients

Leadership is awful. The 2 main partners are narcissistic and sadistic. There is no work like balance, meetings on weekends, holidays or while on vacation are typical. Personal time is not respected at all. Sadly, a very unsupportive environment for women, I would say the same for people of color, little upward mobility for both groups, very much a boys club mentality driven by the leadership. HR is a joke, totally performative, not supportive of staff issues or concerns. Laughable diversity. I would not recommend DS+R to anyone who is not male (straight) or to anyone who values work life balance.

Avantages

The pay is good. You might get an opportunity to work on a cool project, but that’s increasingly rare as the studio’s work has worsened in quality over the years. You will learn a lot and fast, which will benefit you at your next job.

Inconvénients

Lack of respect and appreciation from the partners and leadership. Constant pushing of boundaries. Toxic communication with leadership that borders on abusive. Bullying is common. Lack of true mentorship and training. It’s very much a “figure it out” kind of place. Lack of support on certain teams, which sets people up to fail. Lack of any clear trajectory for employees. People can stay stuck in whatever position they were hired into for a long time. Blatant favoritism on behalf of the partners.
