Please read: I worked at The Ruscio Institute a few years ago. I was committed, reliable, and consistently praised for my work. I made the leaderboard a handful of times and loved working with the interesting content and designers. When my colleague left unexpectedly, I took on their responsibilities in addition to my own. I did it without hesitation. I documented everything I worked on and ensured transparency at every step. I had a heavy workload and billed accordingly, regularly spending hours working on jobs late into the evening. Despite this, I was abruptly and suddenly let go after being falsely accused of billing too much time, even though all my work was verifiable and aligned with the scope I was given. And despite doing the work of two employees, I never asked for a pay raise and took on the additonal responsibilities as asked. (I wanted to stay with the company long-term, so I happily took on the work to show I was a serious & dedicated employee.) After I was let go, I was never approached for clarification or given a chance to respond to their false accusations. Imagine being accused of something so heinous. I desperately tried to get answers, but none were given. I was in shock, as I had never been fired from a job before. There was no warning, no performance concerns, and no discussion. It was just an abrupt and disheartening dismissal. They cut my access and sent me a disgustingly cold and brief email. (I did have a very short phone call from HR after the fact to discuss the logistics of my final paycheck, etc and they advised me the person who sent the email had been scolded for their lack of professionalism.) Though it has been a few years since I worked at The Ruscio Institute, this experience left me feeling devalued and blindsided for a long time. I would caution others to be aware of the lack of accountability and fairness in how employees may be treated here, especially those who go above and beyond without complaint. They took advantage of me and my kindness. They preach positivity and support for their clients, but treat their employees with such disregard. I have since started working at a new employer who values my hard work and dedication. Please use caution when considering employment here.
