Avantages

Friendly coworkers who will help if you are in a bind. You are never completely alone. Even as an entry-level developer, you will work directly on client projects which gains you experience in the Salesforce industry. Team members pull their weight, including the owners who live off of this company like a drug. Good use of Agile processes. Development Managers often care about their team members and will step in to help when needed.

Inconvénients

Type A personalities dominate the company, so much so that ‘appearing busy’ drives success more than actual work completion. People are constantly overworked, then praised for their ‘60 hours billable’ dedication - no mitigations of those situations. Project Managers come in with little experience in Salesforce and are immediately blamed for any poor performance on their project, never the Sales team (led by an owner) who set unrealistic expectations with the client. Owners micromanage so much that they have reviewed individuals’ timesheets on a weekly basis and send feedback to their managers. You are expected to log 8 hours per day in 15 minute increments (not industry standard of ‘4 hours this project, 4 hours that project)... NO it is ‘30 minutes creation of field A, unit testing’... and you are often forced to either work 9 hour days to log 8 hours or add bathroom time to a development task. Turnover is moderate here as many developers leave around the 2-year mark... they will state developers are here 10+ years but that is a small few. Management will speak positively about projects that are on fire and need all hands on deck to fix, but projects that run smoothly will receive no attention. Salesforce ‘development’ is mostly partnerships with managed packages that focuses on learning custom configuration that will not be as useful for career growth as Apex development.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts through this review. While we would wholeheartedly agree with your Pros, we would like to address a few datapoints: 1) Because we take every review seriously, we analyzed the 2020 Timesheets data entries. Only a handful of our team members ever worked more than 45 hours per week and it was for 3 weeks only. Of course, in any service industry, there may be a week or so when an extra few hours are needed (and those extra efforts are always appreciated through yearly and spot bonuses). Our PMs made significant efforts to minimize their frequency to ensure work-life balance. 2) We allow for team members to log a scrum call in 15-minute increments if they choose/cannot bundle it with other client activities, but it is at their discretion (not directed by ForeFront or clients). Again, the review showed that less than 5% of 2020 timesheets have an entry logged in a 15-minute increment. 3) The average tenure of our team right now is 4.5 years with many team members having stayed with us for over 8+ years. We appreciate every review and always endeavor to continue to find ways to keep ForeFront ranked as a Top 10 Best Places to Work. We wish you best of luck at your next opportunity!

Avantages

I worked within the Sales Team performing tasks around demand generation. The company is 25 years old and can draw on so many past experiences (successes and failures) to bring value to their customers. Their resources are always working on new skills and certifications to stay current with technology. On top of doing great work for their customers, ForeFront is a family run business and makes every employee feel a part of the family. Even being remote and not getting to physically be with the team every day, I felt heard and that my work and opinion mattered.

Inconvénients

Would have loved to meet the whole FF family, but I came on just after their yearly kickoff powwow. Remote work is the way of the world now, but getting everyone together is always good for team building - the ROI is hard to see on paper, but it's there.
