Being exposed to courses. And I guess having a job is better than not having a job.

Where to begin?! For a start they often seem to employ people who have no skills whatsoever, often school leavers and then they think they can somehow teach skills like Maths, English and IT when most of them don't even have the skills themselves. The hours are anti social although I believe that has improved now. Everyone is still required to do evenings as well as normal office hours.The salary is absolutely disgusting. I don't know how they can justify such low salaries especially not when you consider that this is no 9-5 job. I was on the same pay for several years. Never had one payrise. The staff are treated terribly. No one stays long as no one is happy. There is no career progression whatsoever. Management treated the staff so badly. In fact several people ended up severely depressed because of how they were treated. One particular manager was a nasty piece of work but no one seemed to notice as this manager was good at selling so no one cared as the money was coming in. This was before they went over to having government funded courses only. Before that things were a little better. We literally got treated like school kids. It was insulting. Had to do whatever management said even if it was not in the contract. There was no proper HR either which in this day and age is unacceptable. Several instances of fraud going on too. No benefits whatsoever. Minimum amount of holidays. Everything was always negative even when the branch was doing well. So demotivating. Worse job I have ever had. Having worked elsewhere for numerous years now and having discussed this with lots of people I have realised that this place was definitely not normal.
