The work itself wasn’t an issue. In my opinion, it was slow-paced. The staff frequently mentioned “downtime” in the interview. Job expectations are not concrete, but rather subjective based on an elder’s mood. That’s fine. However, the catty attitudes were intolerable. The senior staff gossiped about younger staff unprofessionally. Good managers think about learning curves, skill development, and onboarding period. The verbatim here was, “this isn’t daycare, I’m not gonna hold your hand.” There are better employers that are more fast-paced, results-driven, and less idle.
