Avantages
My personal career growth has been great while here. Having been hired as a junior, I definitely feel that I've been invested in and have been given opportunities to take on more senior responsibilities. I still feel like that's happening at the time of writing. I feel that this speaks to the company's values quite a bit; if you're curious, are willing to fail in public, and are willing to move on to the next thing when you do, your team will invest in you. I've seen multiple coworkers of mine stepping up because they wanted the opportunity to do so, and because the opportunity was readily given to them. Apart from that, the product is well-researched and growing fast. The engineering work is interesting and scaling fast. No ridiculous politics. Making a difference in a space that needs one.
Inconvénients
We go too fast, or we make decisions about what to build too slowly, so we build using duct tape. This was good when we were a smaller startup, but scale has turned this into a problem. Shinier product takes priority over stable product too often. I'd love if we could do more of hiring junior engineering talent and moving more senior talent around internally, versus hiring senior talent externally.
