An awful place to work - Avis employé Systems Technician Intrust IT

Pants-on-head incompetent HR, childish leadership that refuses to listen to criticism, and extreme micromanagement. They do not know how to handle people. This company will beat you over the head with the "best place to work" awards they pressured their employees into voting for, but it's anything but. Maybe it used to be? Technical staff are overworked and live under a microscope. The company does not care about your health whatsoever, and if you raise concerns, be prepared to be belittled by toxic, frat-bro-type leadership. Speaking of, they can't retain female employees in some departments due to the culture of the company. This company will squander your potential, too. They have career paths with goals for achieving them, but I saw precisely one person move up on the technical staff during my time there. It took me a month at a better company to be promoted to a position that fits my abilities and allows me to do more than work myself to death. There are obvious growing pains the company is experiencing, but they've handled it very poorly. It's a shame, because the guy that owned the place is awesome and kind, and so are plenty of people on the technical side and elsewhere. Unfortunately, the rest of the people in charge are not so much.
