Avantages
A strong company vision. Compensation is quite competitive. Cross-border communication across different departments in different countries. Takes feedback seriously in some areas especially welfare if its handled at HQ level. Some great colleagues which makes the day to day very bearable (huge part). People taking pride in what they do.
Inconvénients
If you are joining the APAC office, you will be sold a story and you’d eventually buy it. However, the reality is nothing short of mental torture, burnout and daily doses of ultra micro management. You will not be able to take a breather from the daily bombardment of being told what to do and to do it exactly how its being instructed. You will be treated like a fresher regardless of your experiences. Directors aren’t spared unless you’re the golden boy of the management. It is obvious and anyone can see it. Management doesn’t provide constructive feedback and doesn’t try to adapt to changes from views coming from the ground people (these people have worked in APAC for years and have built their relationships and knows how to do business within the region). Very inflexible and mentally draining putting up with feedbacks falling on deaf ears. Your work will be praised but heavily criticized at the same time. The latter takes precedence over everything else. Everyone has voiced their concerns and people are venting their frustrations in silence. It is the worse startup to work for!
