      Avantages

      You will be able to be at the table in meetings where major decisions for the region are being shaped. Awesome opportunity to grow your network and find out what kind of work you'd like to be doing in the future. MORPC has a great reputation in the community.

      Inconvénients

      Pace is slow, funding guidelines can limit creativity, attitude is often "how can we spend this money" instead of "how can we solve this problem." Limited opportunities for upward mobility; you might get a title change and a 5% raise but probably few new responsibilities or authority.

      Projects are often slow moving, so it may be rare to see the beginning and end of a project.

      Avantages

      Did a great job matching me with a local government agency that had an opening aligning me with my interests. MORPC and the agency were very welcoming, and the agency definitely helped my career development.

      Inconvénients

      Check-ins from MORPC weren't helpful at addressing any issues that may have come up with the host, I felt I had to deal with them directly.
