Avantages

Flexible working - that was about it! Other benefits poor.

Inconvénients

Lots of changes, very poor communication within management, lots extra tasks added to ever changing role and no appreciation or remuneration in 5 years - backstabbing culture, appalling atmosphere where you are watched, harassed and humiliated by inexperienced manager. Blatant disregard to covid and working from home even though my role was not clinical! Was enabled to wfh then advised that was no longer possible! Was told I’d be furloughed one day then next day not - Absolutely awful - worked for 5 years too long! Expected to handle huge work load when only working part time. HR are also a complete waste of time - lip service only and zero support in resolving matters. Very stressful experience working within this Hospital. Staff are just a number and dispensable and not valued in any way.

We are sorry you feel this way. Change is essential to ensure Practice Plus Group effectively and efficiently provides high quality of care. Our aim is to constantly evolve and develop as healthcare does, so we can best utilise our resources to care for our patients. We always aim to pay a fair and competitive salary for every role across the company; monitoring market conditions constantly. Following each annual staff survey we always encourage every member of staff to get involved in the action planning to improve engagement at their hospital or site. We invest in a company-wide staff survey every year that measures our staff engagement. In our most recent survey, 85% of staff said they were proud to work for Practice Plus Group. As Operations Director I always welcome the chance to discuss feedback from staff, if you would like to give more detail feedback to me please do email me, Adrian.Peake@practiceplusgroup.com

Avantages

Nice trainees lovely people on training course

Inconvénients

Where do I start. Total lack of respect for trainees, churning trainees in and out like a production line due to maximum numbers leaving even before training ends. Speaking to trainees in inconsiderate manner. No people skills. Comes across as Unprofessional towards trainees. Lack of clarity as to when training ends and actual normal salary begins ( not far off minimum wage until that happens) cannot get the shifts to finish training as not enough coaches and too many new trainees being introduced again when no shifts for those half way through (you don’t get paid while waiting for a coaching session by the way). Coached mostly by people who have no empathy due to being under pressure themselves. No real understanding or tolerance when trainees anre nervous an inevitably make mistakes. Rules around being away from calls like being in a prison. Just a toxic , critical environment . Absolutely the opposite to what you expect from a so called care setting. Awful experience. Out of 12 of us in training only 4 of us survived into the main then no shifts as no coaches!! Worst job I ever applied for

Avantages

PPG Ophthalmology has a genuinely supportive and approachable management team who provide clear guidance and are always willing to listen. There are real opportunities for development, and staff are encouraged to grow into new roles and responsibilities. The service is built around structured, well‑designed patient pathways that make care efficient and safe, leading to consistently strong outcomes. The culture is open, collaborative and transparent where people feel able to challenge, raise concerns and contribute ideas without hesitation. It’s easy to see why the organisation won Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year at the HSJ Awards; the commitment to quality and staff engagement is evident every day.

Inconvénients

Like any fast‑growing service, the pace can be demanding at times, and adapting to new processes requires flexibility.
