Avantages

Good place to learn and gain experience, especially if you are new to the industry. Work from home.

Inconvénients

Pay is horribly low - you will make a higher salary at pretty much any other company in this field. High turnover rate - most employees leave after a year or two. I've seen many leave after just a couple months. High workload - completely unrealistic expectations that don't match the pay. During busy parts of the year, it's normal to be on 10-15 proposals at the same time, all with different clients who can be very demanding. Poor work/life balance - Even though the work is done remotely, work/life balance is a joke. Management is incredibly toxic and will blow up your email/direct messages at all hours of the night (even as late as 2 or 3 in the morning) and on weekends. Quick turnaround proposals assigned on Friday and due Monday are given without any regard to your personal life outside work. Proposal team seemingly has to work 7 days a week, 24 hours a day with no overtime pay (of course). Toxic Management - Anyone working here will see the red flags right away. There is a lot of micromanaging (this goes back to my point earlier about receiving messages and emails 24/7). There seems to be no emotional intelligence whatsoever and a lot of very unprofessional behavior. Examples of this include calling out employees' mistakes publicly and there was also an instance where I was screamed and cursed at by a manager over the phone for something I had no control over. Overall, there is a very high-stress, anxiety-filled atmosphere at the company due to poor management.

Avantages

Working here as a Proposal Manager has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. The company truly trusts its people — there is no micromanagement, and I always felt empowered to make decisions and take full ownership of my work. The remote work setup is a huge plus, giving me the flexibility I need while still feeling connected to a small, nimble team that operates more like a supportive family than just coworkers. The leadership encourages initiative and values everyone’s ideas, which makes a big difference when juggling complex projects. The clients are enjoyable to work with and the projects are genuinely interesting — there’s always something new to learn, which keeps the job fresh and engaging.

Inconvénients

As with any proposal environment, the work can be demanding and fast-paced, which might not suit everyone. Staying organized and able to multi-task effectively is a must, and tight deadlines can bring some stress — but that’s part of the industry and comes with the territory.
