      Avantages

      People in all departments had good attitude, friendly and also very professional. When times are good, there was a year end bonus. In general, management was very rational about expectations and direction. Sufficient procedures to keep things organized with useful results.

      Inconvénients

      CEO tends to frequently change directions and intermittently micro-manage. Much of management effort is running interference. I can understand need to break through the fog of management layers and assert control, but a better method needs to be developed. I recommend actual conversations, not hallway ambushes.

      Avantages

      The company is located in a very nice spot. Alameda is lovely. There have been some brilliant people there who have built up world-class technology. They have an interesting mix of products, well-supported and marketed by some good and interesting people.

      Inconvénients

      Their CEO is a micro-managing tyrant who bullies his staff into untenable positions, wasting time and management resources, leading to schedule slips and poor product and market definition. His company succeeds, in as much as it does, in spite of him, not because of him. The company's benefits are sub-par, and the compensation is below industry standards. The company is privately held and likely to remain so; don't count on any stock benefits there.
