There are tons of positives working for ROCS. 1. Under Devon you will learn an absolutely insane amount about recruiting, interviewing, formatting documents and resumes, and overall become an exceptional recruiter under her. She's tough but knows how to help you succeed and that's where the company shines. In recruiting. Honestly, if she leaves the company might not survive. 2. Once you get rolling it feels really good. You start filling jobs, you have some friendly competition, you start to fit in and you are on top of the world. When it's going well. 3. Bonuses are nice. 4. If you like a small company vibe where you can just go and talk to the owners down the hall is great. 5. The office is stunning and it's a cozy environment. 6. We get lunch when we hit goal and it's a total vibe they don't skimp on it either and will celebrate your birthday or others milestones. 7. They do a lot of fun events. Unfortunately, that's about the end. I suggest reading the cons for the nitty gritty.
Inconvénients
Oh boy, where to start. 1. This place is clique central and if you're in the clique it's great. Once you are out you are ostracized. It's like you are being shunned in highschool and it can be debilitating. 2. They want you in sales. There is no career for you here as a recruiter. They expect you to go to account management and if you don't want to they will fire you. Keep that in mind. 3. They do not care if you are not performing. While they will try to "help" you. When you are struggling it will come down to making more calls and that's it. 4. Training on the AM side is abysmal. On the recruiting side you get a ton of support from Devin. On the AM side it's "did you hit your goals?" No? "Make more calls". Btw I asked to sit in on a call blitz and was told you have to learn by doing it. Turns out every other large recruiting firm requires you in training to sit with a senior account manager to hear how they do it. 5. The owners, and all the managers have never worked anywhere else. That means, change isn't going to happen. Adapt or leave. 6. Back to the clique. People talk a lot of crap about people they don't like. Like an insane amount, it made me super uncomfortable and there were times I would lay in bed wondering what they were saying about me behind my back. 7. They absolutely play favorites, and they are not afraid to hide it. At one event they gave speeches about all the staff and one person they praised super highly and then one person they basically infront of everyone said "we're glad you try" it was messed up. 8. Pay sucks when you compare to larger companies. 9. You will come in one day and half of the people who worked there will be gone. There are around 5 or 6 people who will always be there but everyone else will more than likely leave. What I recommend. If you get hired and you like recruiting when you are there. Learn everything you can from Devon and grow your skills. As soon as you are asked to move to AM start looking for you let next recruiting job. If you like sales go work at a bigger firm you will make way more money at a Robert Half or a LHH than at ROCS. The third highest earner is not making 6 figures. Let that sink in. It's a great start but it's not forever.
