Avantages
Great technology in focus products. Top market share in focus products. Low power technology, flash memory, CPU cores and bus architecture expertise. Core business in Japan is very strong and will help outlast downturns in global economy. Excellent responsiveness to disastrous earthquake that shut down fabs and supply chain.
Inconvénients
Poor business sense in some cases. Continuous in-fighting due to previous mergers of Mitsubishi, Hitachi, NEC. Lack of balance in decision making among senior management. Lack of technical infrastructure that supports customers broadly. Continuous change of management style including strange edicts that seem authoritarian.
