Avantages
Startup, you have ability to make an impact if everything aligns. If you're mid to senior level, I guess you'll land at some of the well known Series C+ AI startups.
Inconvénients
Before I even started, there was a bait and switch: I applied and interviewed for a Director level role. I went through countless interviews, projects, presentations, got the offer, and when it was less than expected, I was then told it was down leveled. I should have walked away there but the process took way longer than others and I already declined another offer (regret).
So I started, and high pressue and little support from the start. I was handed a half baked "dog food" tool for reporting, against all the standards in my role. My manager was stretched thin, and that showed with... again, severe lack of support and coverage from lateral teams and stakeholders, equally stressed from whatever pressure they were under.
