Avantages
Been working at the Bacton gas terminal for 4+ years, the salary if above average for Norfolk. Although difficult times in the oil and gas sector, morale remains high amongst my team. A friendly bunch of guys and girls to work with.
Inconvénients
Much talk of redundancies in the sector, lower level employees aren't kept abreast of who's going and who's staying. Can be prison like due to the high security of the terminal. The safety performance of some contractors on site is very concerning, and senior management know it. It's frustrating that although they know, they won't take action. Frustrating and concerning for many of us. It's almost like they're being protected from someone at high level. We can only hope that they end up in the dock with the contractor when something serious happens. A colleague formally complained about the safety of one contractor, he almost lost his job.
