Avantages
Great folks on the ground doing the work. Made a lot of strong working relationships and there are many folks I still talk to after we all left; most of us left after layoffs or because of the poor work environment.
Inconvénients
- Leadership is inconsistent and terrible. During my 3ish years there, we went through three Presidents/CEOs, three C-suite pyramid heads, and 3 department VPs. The changeover made so much top-down thrash, and the leadership-level decision-making was progressively worse. I will never work for a venture-capital-owned company again. - During my 3ish years, five rounds of layoffs hit my department. The layoffs continue, and the 3rd Tuesday in January is known to the IC-level workers as "Layoff Day" because it's basically become an annualized event. The layoffs are also done in a seemingly thoughtless way: the last one I was at the company for eliminated all the people of color and all of the top-performers in our department. - Pay equity is a mess, and HR does not care enough about the problem to fix it. They are the staple of the adage "HR is not your friend".
