Avantages
There are some great people at this company who value team success, customer satisfaction, foster growth and care about one another and the company. Some policies, like vacation, are established but generally flexible. Mothers hours, etc., were allowed for some employees. People are generally friendly and kind to each other here. Depending on your team/department, you don't have to hustle all the time; it's not a cut-throat, KPI-driven environment.
Inconvénients
Most mid-level managers I knew were honestly trying, but really struggling due to 1) poor support from the executive level, 2) constantly changing priorities and expectations, and 3) insufficient long term planning. The C-level was largely reactive rather than proactive. The unspoken ideology was something like: "Let the problem happen and then we will deal with it later." This set a really toxic culture in every area of the business. Efforts to plan ahead (and stick to the plan) generally weren't received well and were dismissed whenever follow-through was inconvenient. Micromanagement was commonplace and bordered on bullying, and no one could question it because it originated from the highest levels in the company. Collaboration and cooperation were verbally stated as values, but employees were questioned on why they needed to spend time talking to each other. Company wide communication was very poor; messages not usually reaching all intended recipients, reaching unintended recipients, and not very clear. Policies established by HR were not followed uniformly across all departments. Many employees lacked an actual title and job description. Performance reviews were supposed to be annual, but were commonly late or completely missed. "Promotions" without raises were handed out with gusto. Pay not great. tldr: Broken leadership culture. Chaos, disorganization and poor practices across the business. Not-insignificant levels of uncertainty and stress among employees. And not uncommonly, confused and dissatisfied customers.
